Hi, my name is Glennis Whitehead and I
have worked as a waitress and daytime bartender for 16 years.
Comfortable Atmosphere
As you can imagine I have seen lots of changes.
There has always been something about the pub that keeps
people coming back, even when it is quiet there is a
comfortable atmosphere.
Where else can you think of that you can go for a
good selection of import and domestic beers, a wonderful meal
and take care of household chores? Yes you read it right,
if you need a tiler, an electrician, Kitchen rebuilt,
Painter, Roofer or general contractor, we even have
someone to sell your house or help you find a new one.
So you see we really are a pub with a difference.
Beers
Earlier I mentioned our import draught beers, Let me tell
you something about them, I'll start with the lagers which are
the same color as domestic beers.
FOSTERS From Australia Very mild taste,
Good for the ladies to try.
WARSTEINER From Germany A crisper tasting beer
with a slight sharpness.
HEINEKEN From Holland A stronger flavor that
needs no introduction.
STELLA ARTOIS From Belgium Although this has
a very light taste this lager is strong and can creep up on you
if you're not careful. It is the most popular beer at the pub.
Now that the lagers are done lets get down to the ales.
Over the years I have had many people say "I don't want an
ale I want a beer" The word beer is just a descriptive word.
Whether they are lagers, ales, bitters, porters or stouts,
they are still all beers.
I also get asked for a "red" beer. It seems that anything that
is not a lager color is red. With English beers the color is
not an indication of taste, These beers all have different
flavors and strengths and could all be classed as different
shades of red.
TETLEYS From the north of England this beer
is classified as a smooth flow, it has a creamy head and is
low in carbonation which means you can drink and enjoy more
without getting as full up with gas. A heavier flavor with
just a touch of tartness.
LONDON PRIDE A Hand pulled smooth flow from
the fuller brewery in London. Creamy with no aftertaste.
ESB Classed as a real ale in England, this
beer has no carbonation and a strong slightly bitter taste.
It is also one of the high alcohol beers and is from the same
brewery as London Pride.
NEWCASTLE BROWN From Newcastle in the north
of England this is the sweetest of all our beers and is popular
with the ladies or first time ale drinkers.
BASS Most people in the U.S. have heard of
Bass and like the newcastle it's a little more carbonated
than the smooth flows. Mild tasting goes great in a black and tan.
BODDINGTONS The cream of Manchester. The
lightest in color of the ales a good clean flavor, very drinkable.
GUINNESS From Ireland, I think everyone has
heard of this one. A very dark beer known as a stout. A heavier
beer than the rest but not high in alcohol. Guinness drinkers
prefer not to drink anything else. Reported to be good for you,
full of iron and minerals, a beer in a class of its own.
The last but certainly not least is STRONGBOW
Which is not a beer. STRONGBOW From the west
country in England. This is a hard Apple Cider. A good thirst
quencher on the dry side.
If you are not sure about the dryness ask for a
WOODPECKER Cider which comes in a bottle and
is sweeter.
We also carry all the popular domestic beers in bottles and a
good selection of wines including Champagne. We have a full bar.
